Murder Rates in Alaska Dropped in 2018

For the first time in 5 years the murder rates in Anchorage have dropped!

From 2012 to 2017 the yearly homicide rates in Alaska have increased from the year prior. For five years, the murder rates INCREASED in Alaska. On January 1st 2019, KTUU announced that Anchorage had seen a drop in annual homicides.

This is an answer to prayer. On August 30th, 2018 Worship + Justice Movement gathered and asked God to interrupt pattern of murder in Alaska. God answered that prayer!

However there is more to be done. As KTUU reported: “While Anchorage saw a drop in homicides from 2017 to 2018, according to historical crime data, the murder rate in Anchorage is still 40 percent above the 2006 to 2016 average.”
